When designing this project, I first considered communal winemaking as a co-housing strategy. The residents work in viticulture, winemaking, and the communal kitchen, ultimately creating a shared income and a sense of community living. Of course, another important consideration when preparing this project was frugality. Therefore, local materials such as stone, wood, and steel from local producers were used as building materials. Frugality is not just limited to materials, but also applies to co-housing, with apartment sizes kept to a minimum and shared kitchens and living rooms designed. As a final frugality strategy, passive heating and cooling were considered to achieve energy saving.
